Suffolk County Flag
Suffolk is a coastal county in the east of England bordered by Norfolk, Essex and Cambridgeshire. It is a fairly low lying agricultural county but has 3 ports at Felixstowe, Ipswich and Lowestoft. Birds Eye has a large vegetable processing plant at Lowestoft. Other large employers are Bernard Matthews Farms, Greene King and Adnams Ales as well as the Horse Racing Industry at Newmarket in the west of the county. There are USAF bases and the Sizewell B nuclear power station on the coast. Tourism is important and the largest seaside resort is at Lowestoft but there are a number of small seaside towns at Kessingland, Southwold and Aldeburgh. Oulton Broad just outside Lowestoft is another very popular place and there are a number of nature reserves and picturesque villages along the coast. Dunwich was one of England's largest towns in the 11th century but a number of severe storms in the 13th century swept most of the town away and coastal erosion has continued this trend. A small amount remains which can be visited and there is a museum telling the history of the town.
The Suffolk County Flag is a blue background with central golden crown with 2 crossed arrows attributed to St Edmund who was king of East Anglia and was shot in 903 and buried at Bury St Edmunds.
Our Printed Suffolk County Flag
High Quality Printed Knitted Polyester Flags
All county flags are digitally printed onto 115g knitted polyester which conforms to British MOD specification. Flags are double stitched hem all around and a reinforced hem on the hanging side. Supplied with metal eyelets fixing ready to fly.
Poly Mesh Suffolk County Flag:
Poly-mesh Suffolk County flag is also made from knitted polyester 115 gsm (grams square metre) and has very small holes across the entire flag which allows the air to flow through the flag to flutter rather than whip in the high winds so they last longer in exposed areas.
Poly Mesh flags are ideal for coastal areas, church towers, roof tops, harbours and exposed areas.
Anti-fray:
Anti-Fray is optional. Anti-fray is sewn onto the opposite end of the reinforced flag fixing side and the mesh takes the wear out of the flag allowing flags to last longer with more durability.
